Toby lives in St Merryn, Cornwall, has huge US 10 feet, perfect for surfing and likes to ride every different type of board there is. Long boards, twin fins, thrusters; single fins and has no shortage of access to them because his dad is Adrian Phillips - one of the most respected shapers in the UK (owns Fluid Juice Boards). In 2006 Toby made a huge splash on the junior contest scene, upsetting all of the usual winners to become the clear best surfer in his age group. He topped this peer-crushing year with a very respectable 4th place at the European Championships, and looks set to be one of the best surfers the UK has ever produced.
