From April to October I received funding from Umeå Institute of Design for my personal artistic development. I used this funding to research how design can be meaningful for Dementia patients. I explored this subject with the help of fellow tutors and students in two courses; Fostering empathy for Dementia patients at UID with Cognitive Science students, and Transformative Homes for Sensuous Dementia at the Technical University in Eindhoven with MA students in Industrial Design. I had a few conversations with an amazing person; Per Lundberg, a dementia nurse for over 37 years. Additionally I explored this project by myself through various means of research. All this resulted in a book, with some spreads shown below. Contact me if you’d like to see the full version.
