After starting Floda31 academia has become more related to my working career and this\u00a0has spawned many a specialised course at Floda31 and at Ume\u00e5 Institute of Design (UID) for the\u00a0MA Interaction design, MA Transportation design and BA Industrial design courses. Notably, UID has been awarded the Best School of Design Award by Red Dot for three years running. Due to my architecture experience, another role I took on was to\u00a0work at Ume\u00e5 School of Architecture (UMA) and was employed to\u00a0collaborate\u00a0on the\u00a0design,\u00a0engineering and production for their diffused light lab, also working as a lecturer for first year students.<\/p>\n
I like to\u00a0inspire students\/participants\u00a0to be more confident and believe in a\u00a0maker\/doing methodology, I also feel that students should challenge the status quo in a\u00a0chosen topic whilst studying, as it is more rare for this to happen outside of university in a commercial\u00a0environment.\u00a0It is always\u00a0a\u00a0pleasure\u00a0conceptualising and running bespoke project briefs at the Floda31 workshop in the wilderness. At\u00a0F31 we tend to think more\u00a0pragmatically about the logistics\u00a0of solving problems\u00a0and hoping that this\u00a0experience\u00a0helps\u00a0to make a good group dynamic (and it usually does) which then leads to a better ability to handle any challenge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
